Susanne Hurr gets excited talking about becoming debt free, she’s delighted at her latest advancement, and she’s even more pleased about the fact that her organization is experiencing accelerating growth every month with no sign of slowing down. But none of those things compare to her happiness about what happened in her home.

“Nothing made a more rapid difference in our lives as when we converted our home,” she says. “I knew that if I could tell everyone about this for the rest of my life and help people who are going through what I went through, I’d be happy.”

Susanne tackled her business with her passion for the products. She quickly found that passion spreading to others she enrolled.

“I don’t think anything else out there brings people so much hope,” she says. “People need hope. People who are living paycheck to paycheck, who are buried in debt, struggling with their finances or who need affordable safer products for their families—they need hope.”

For Susanne, Melaleuca has helped her bring the light at end of the tunnel a lot closer.

“We’d gone into so much debt with my son’s condition that people were driving us nuts with constant phone calls,” she says. “It was really hanging over our heads. Now we’ve paid it off—we’re getting back on our feet. Enrolling with Melaleuca and starting our team, the FourPointGroup, were the best things we could have ever done.”

Susanne says success in the business is attainable for anyone who’s willing to make the personal changes to make it happen.

“Anyone can sign an Independent Marketing Executive Agreement—that’s not the hard part of the business,” she says. “Some people just aren’t willing to push through their personal lids to succeed. Do you know what a personal ‘lid’ is? Something holding you back from achieving success. If you can’t get passed a certain point to move forward, you stay the same or go backwards. You have to do something different or uncomfortable to get passed your personal lid.”

Breaking out of her comfort zone is something Susanne’s all too familiar with.
“I have a bit of a fear of talking to people in person,” she says. “I used to get pretty nervous knowing I had to talk to people over the phone, but now it’s not a problem. After I went through the misery a few times, I was fine. My latest personal lid is about managing money, but Melaleuca has given me the ability to deal with it.”

Being successful, ironically, depends on how you view your failures, Susanne says.

“Successful people go through failure just as much as anyone else—they’re no different,” she says. “They just get right back up again. Some people fall down and don’t bother to get back up again. Or they don’t give it 100 percent because they’re afraid of failing. A long time ago, someone told me, ‘If you don’t quit, you won’t fail—period.’ And I believed it. I said, ‘Okay, I won’t quit.’ It’s all in our heads. Whether you believe you’ll succeed or fail, you’re right.”

But Susanne is determin ed to succeed.

“I’m going to Corporate Director, and I’m not stopping,” she says. “When Executive Vice President McKay Christensen and National Vice President of Sales Travis Garza called to congratulate me for this advancement, I said, ‘I’m going to Corporate Director.’ McKay said, ‘That’s great, but you should celebrate this achievement now.’ I said, ‘Okay, but I won’t be happy until I reach Corporate Director.’ I will definitely be working this business forever—I love helping people too much to quit!

“I want to thank some people for their efforts. First, and always, I’d like to thank God for blessing us, everyone in the FourPointGroup for their work, Executive Director II Mary Lee and Executive Director III Krissy Dyes for showing us the ropes, and then our leaders and their teams: Senior Director V Renee Moritz, Director IV Alicia Gourley, Director IV Diane DuFau, Director II Shelley Bottomley, and Director II Tari Pifer. Their tireless effort is an inspiration.”
