Robert & Julie Ford
New Executive Directors II
Georgia
After being in the top one percent of income earners in their former multi-level marketing company, 11-and-a-half-year veterans Robert and Julie Ford resigned and enrolled with Melaleuca. “We’re happy with the philosophy and thrilled with the business model,” Robert says. “When President and CEO Frank L. VanderSloot says, ‘All roads lead to Melaleuca,’ I believe that’s true—all roads will lead to Melaleuca.”
The Fords’ road led to Melaleuca when Robert received a revelatory call from Executive Director III Jason Fisher. “Jason explained how it was possible for us to experience consistent business growth, earn true residual income, and have a business that could last a lifetime,” Robert says. “So I flew to New York to investigate his claims—like the 95-percent monthly reorder rate, something I found staggering. I looked at business reports and customer retention rates. It became absolutely clear we needed to make a change.”
Robert and Julie hoped that by making that change they’d finally be able to achieve their longstanding business goals.
“Our original dream was to help others experience better health, provide for our family, earn residual income, and help others improve financially,” Julie says. “The wonderful thing about Melaleuca is that if you want to build a business to accomplish these goals, you can. The business is based on products that are used residually—everyone uses toothpaste and shampoo on a daily basis. The business is built on everyday staples, not luxuries.”
Robert says, “The keys to a successful business are the ability to attract new customers and the ability to retain customers, these are critical for success.”
“I don’t think most people understand how truly brilliant Melaleuca is,” Robert says. “In the direct sales industry Melaleuca is the best-kept secret!”
After enrolling, the Fords started vigorously building a Melaleuca business. “The first 45 days with Melaleuca, were some of the hardest (in terms of work) and the most focused (as related to our goals) in our lives,” Julie says.
“We did a lot of presentations—one after another after another. We enrolled over 50 people in their first month placing us in the top 10 in August and September’s Fast Track. We’re still enrolling personally, but not at that pace. We have a fantastic team: Senior Director II Chukwudi Ajieren, Senior Directors II (in their first month) Bruce and Nancy Roth, Director III Kristi Sherman, Director III Alice Brigance, Director III Dianna Thompson and Director II Kristi Gayton. We want to thank all our other hard-working directors, enrollers and customers. Without them it wouldn’t happen, but there are just so many good people to mention.
“We would not have had this success if it were not for the people in our business support team: from our enroller Jason Fisher, Executive Director Susan Tyson, and Corporate Directors Russell Paley and Gregory and Sheri Lagana.”
Instead of setting a status goal with their business, Robert and Julie measure their achievements by their residual income—the income they earn from customers using the products. “Our goal is to achieve $20,000 a month in residual income, whatever status that may be,” Robert says. “But we’re really much more focused on what we need to do now—not six months or a year from now. Our immediate goal is Executive Director III.
“We’re just thrilled for achieving ELC and Executive Director II in six months and that we have earned over $74,000 in the last three months alone,” Julie adds. “Melaleuca has been a godsend for us.”
“Congratulations on your advancement,” says National Vice President of Sales Travis Garza. “Robert and Julie are great leaders with fantastic attitudes, and I know they’re determined to make a difference.”
